Walsh Park
Hitchcock Design Group
This project is the Chicago Park District’s Walsh (John) Park which is located near North Avenue and Ashland Avenue on the north side of Chicago as a terminus to the 606 converted rail to trail.
As part of this project, the park is being modernized with new playgrounds and walking/bike paths to connect to the 606. The playgrounds will consist of Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) surfaces that will double as water management BMP’s. The project will also replace existing lead water service lines with copper service lines, provide a splash pad, as well as electrical and lighting improvements.
2IM was responsible for providing drainage design and complying with the City of Chicago Stormwater Ordinance for Volume and Rate Control.
